Calculate the strap length by measuring from where you would like the top of the front wool panel to rest, then over your shoulder, to the top of where you would like the back panel to rest. The scapular should rest over the chest area in the front and back. We are not able to customize strap lengths beyond 24 inches. You may also measure your current scapular for exact sizing.

Please measure carefully for customization. Ask as many questions as you need regarding your straps and scapular. We do not accept returned scapulars for a change/alteration in strap length or type.

Scapulars labeled "Ready to Mail" will ship in one to three business days.

All other listings are not ready to mail; they are handmade in the order we receive them. Most of our made to order scapulars are shipped in 1 to 3 weeks when complete. We do not place one order ahead of someone who purchased earlier. Please read the "Estimated Ship dates before placing an order.

Mantle Of Mary® Exterior Pockets:
If you would like to add one or two exterior pockets for your medals, please write to us for a custom order. We will be happy to make the pockets for your Mantle Of Mary scapular. The pockets are made to fit slightly shorter than the size of your scapular panel size.

Please note that the Exterior Pocket will add extra weight and bulk to your scapular as an extra wool panel is secured to the outside of one or both wool panels. For larger scapulars, we are able to add a loop inside the exterior pocket to attach your medals. We do not add extra folds or hook and loop tape or magnets to close the pocket.

Most of our scapulars are handmade to order for you (not "in stock") and will be completed, then shipped according to the time frame shown in each listing.

Please read the completion dates (separate from shipping time frames) for each scapular listing prior to purchase. During November - January and June through September completion times may be longer.

Each listing has pictures of our previously made scapulars. When you place your order, your scapular will be made as you requested with customization of color, size and ribbon length. Each scapular we make may appear slightly different as each has been made individually; not mass produced.

Each scapular listing is for one (1) individually handmade to order scapular. In order to purchase more than one scapular, please increase the "quantity" in the drop down menu when making your final selection. If you would like a custom order with multiple handmade scapulars, please send us a note so we may create a Special Order for you.

We do not make repairs on scapulars. Because of the nature of scapulars and for health and hygiene reasons, we are unable to receive returned scapulars that have been worn, used or damaged after opening.

When you make a purchase from our store, we ask that you ensure your shipping address has been entered correctly for the place you would like your scapular delivered. We are not able to access your account details to change your address after you make a purchase.

If we receive a shipping address change request after your purchase, we cancel and refund your purchase so that you may reorder with your current mailing address. From there, we would mail your handmade scapular to the new updated address that you provide to Etsy in your account.

Certainly! We are happy to make changes to your customization any time before the "Order Ships" Date. Simply send a note through Etsy "Convo".

If you discover you ordered incorrectly after we have shipped your scapular, please let us know right away. Then, when your package arrives, simply contact us for return instructions. If possible, it is best not to open your package or wear your scapular if you would like to return it for customization changes. We are unable to receive back items that have been worn.

If you opened your package and discovered you ordered the strap type incorrectly or the color, please keep it packaged and let us know!

We suggest Professional Dry Clean for Mantle Of Mary® Large and Ceremonial Scapulars. For Mantle Of Mary® Small Scapulars with little to no design, use a gentle lanolin wool soap with no bubbles. Fill a wash basin with lukewarm water. Add a little diluted wool soap to your basin. Submerge your Scapular in the basin gently. [Do not agitate the water to avoid felting your wool scapular.] Soak 3-10 minutes. Remove the Scapular from the water. Add fresh water to the basin. Gently submerge the Scapular again, then remove. Do not wring or twist the Scapular. Lay the wool flat on clean towel and gently press water out. You may gently press the edges of the wool out with fingers to reshape. A lint brush will remove hair and dust when dry.

Yes, we would be very happy to add embroidery to your scapular! Please send us a note for a special order upgrade. We will then review the design or lettering to determine if we are able to complete your request. A design is not required on the brown wool scapular for Investiture or Enrollment.

The starting cost for added embroidery is $33 and up to $250 per wool panel.
